    The holiday season is a time for community, gratitude, and giving back. Yesterday, The Curlings Group, Real Broker LLC had the incredible opportunity to come together for our “Stuff The Pantry: A Can-Tastic Season” drop-off day, with a goal of supporting those in need in Alachua County. We’re thrilled to share that with the help of our community, we collected over 200 pounds of non-perishable food items for both ElderCare of Alachua County’s Meals on Wheels program and Bread of the Mighty Food Bank!   Team Effort: A Day of Generosity and Impact In attendance to represent The Curlings Group were Paul & Melissa Curlings, and our marketing coordinator, Dylan Robertson. They personally delivered the generous haul to each organization, ensuring that these essential items go directly to families and seniors who need them most. Why We’re Committed to Stuffing the Pantry Our “Stuff The Pantry” campaign was born out of a commitment to make a tangible difference in our community. Hunger and food insecurity are challenges that so many face, especially during the holiday season, and local organizations like ElderCare and Bread of the Mighty do incredible work to alleviate this struggle. By partnering with them, we’re able to help expand their reach and ensure that fewer people go without a meal. What Over 200 Pounds of Food Means to Our Community This collection is more than just a number on a scale—it represents comfort, nourishment, and hope. Bread of the Mighty Food Bank will distribute these items to families across Alachua County, while ElderCare’s Meals on Wheels program ensures that our seniors, who may be isolated or unable to prepare meals, receive the nutrition they need. In our latest update, we’re sharing the inspiring story of Christy Henneman, who has taken the drive to a whole new level by traveling to Cedar Key and Steinhatchee, delivering much-needed supplies to those affected by Hurricane Helene. Her commitment to helping others shines through, and her willingness to go the extra mile—literally—is a testament to the impact that one person can have when supported by a strong and caring community. How It Started: Stuffing the Pantry Our "Stuff The Pantry: A Can-Tastic Food Drive!" began as a way to give back to the community that has given so much to us. We wanted to ensure that local families in need had access to food and other essentials, especially as the holiday season approached. The drive has brought together clients, friends, and local businesses who have generously donated non-perishable food items, canned goods, and pantry staples. The support has been overwhelming, and we have been able to collect a significant amount of donations. While our primary goal was to fill local pantries and support organizations like Bread of the Mighty Food Bank and Meals on Wheels, a new need emerged as Hurricane Helene swept through the Gulf Coast. The storm left behind damaged homes, flooded streets, and a shaken community in areas like Cedar Key and Steinhatchee. We knew that we could—and should—extend our reach to assist those who were hardest hit. Taking It Further: Relief for Hurricane Victims   When disaster strikes, communities come together in extraordinary ways. Christy Henneman saw an opportunity to bring the spirit of our "Stuff The Pantry" initiative to those who needed it most in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. With her truck packed full of donations, Christy set out on a mission to deliver essential supplies to the communities of Cedar Key and Steinhatchee. Christy's journey was more than just a delivery run; it was a demonstration of compassion, resilience, and hope. She traveled to the affected areas, connecting with local organizations and families who had been directly impacted by the storm. Her efforts not only brought essential supplies to those in need but also delivered a message of solidarity—that even in challenging times, people care, and they are not alone. Why We’re Getting Involved Our community has always been at the heart of what we do, and we believe in the power of coming together to make a difference. The need for food assistance grows as the temperatures drop and the holidays approach, and we want to help ensure that everyone has access to nutritious meals. By collaborating with Bread of the Mighty Food Bank and Meals on Wheels, we’re joining forces with organizations that are dedicated to combating food insecurity in North Central Florida. How You Can Help We’ll be accepting non-perishable food donations at our open house events throughout the month of November. Plus, you can drop off your donations at our office location anytime during regular business hours.
